curriculum, students in Junior High School are demanded to write various text types, one of which is Descriptive texts (Depdiknas, 2006). Over the conduct of the teaching practicum in a Junior High School in Bandung, the researcher found out that some students had difficulties to write a Descriptive text.
A descriptive text is one of the texts that can help students to improve their ideas into a text. The researcher used the qualitative method as the way to analyze the data in this research. It focused on analyzing the student’s skill of applying the generic structure of descriptive texts.
